CloudNord Sets a High Bar

After trying a number of hosting providers over the years, CloudNord has quickly become one of the most impressive I've used. Getting started was straightforward from the moment I signed up. The pricing is excellent for the hardware on offer, and there are plenty of configuration choices without the whole process feeling overwhelming. The management panel is clean, responsive, and easy to navigate. Performance has been consistently reliable too — my community has enjoyed smooth gameplay with no noticeable lag or stability problems.

Running a Deadlock server

Deadlock is still being built, and its server-side tooling moves with it. That makes a rented server a slightly different proposition than for a finished game: what you are buying is a machine close to your players, full file and console access, and backups running quietly underneath. We keep the build current and otherwise stay out of the way. Anything the current version supports configuring, you can configure here.

Deadlock

How much RAM do you need?

A private 6v6 match 4 GB Twelve players and a few spectators.
Regular team practice 6 GB Scrims most evenings, configs kept between sessions.
A community event 8 GB Back-to-back matches with headroom to spare.
Larger or ongoing events 12 GB A comfortable margin while the game keeps changing.

A guide, not a limit — you can change plan later without losing your world.

Getting started

01
Pick a location by ping

Deadlock is fast, and ping matters more here than anything else. Choose the location closest to the bulk of your players, from 18 worldwide, and size the plan afterwards.

02
Deploy in about a minute

Provisioned automatically after checkout, with console, file manager and SFTP access from the start. There is nothing to install before you can begin changing things.

03
Save your match configuration

Keep match settings and any custom content in config files rather than commands typed on the night, so the same setup reloads for the next event without being rebuilt.

04
Keep backups running

Deadlock is still in active development and builds move quickly. Automatic backups mean a change on Valve's side costs you an evening at worst, rather than your whole setup.

Split your server

Turn one server into two, for the same money

Need a database, a test server or a second world? Split RAM off the server you already have. You are re-allocating memory you already pay for, so the total barely moves — no second order, no migration.

Database servers

A real database, not a shared one

Split off a database and you get your own MariaDB, PostgreSQL or MongoDB server — its own RAM, its own storage, its own version. Not a schema on a box shared with a thousand other people.

Your own instance

Dedicated RAM and CPU. A heavy query on someone else's database can't slow yours down.

Pick your engine and version

MariaDB, PostgreSQL or MongoDB, each with every version worth running — choose at creation, keep it until you decide otherwise.

Manage it in the panel

Create databases and users, browse tables and run queries from the browser.

Reachable from your servers

Point your plugins at it over the private network — no public exposure needed.

Splitting is done from your server's page once it is running — nothing to order.

FAQ

Before you order

No, and that is worth knowing before you order. The game is still in active development and what the server build exposes changes between versions. We keep the build current and give you full file and console access, so whatever the current version supports configuring, you can configure here.
The one with the lowest ping for most of your players. In a game this fast, latency shows up in every fight, and it is the one thing you cannot fix later with a bigger plan. There are 18 locations worldwide — choose by where your group actually is, not where you are.
The control panel, a live console, a full file manager and SFTP. Nothing is locked behind a wrapper: if you want to edit configuration by hand, script a routine or upload custom content, you can. Scheduled restarts and automatic backups run quietly in the background.
That is what most people want one for. Configure the slots and match settings for whatever format you are running, and the configuration is still there the following week. Nobody spends the first twenty minutes of practice rebuilding a lobby that was set up correctly last time.
Matchmaking chooses the region, the settings and the opponents. A server of your own gives you a fixed address, the rules you set, and availability when your team is free rather than when a queue happens to fill. Practice sessions start on time, which is most of the point.

DDoS protection, included

Every server sits behind always-on filtering at the network edge. Attack traffic is dropped before it reaches your node, so your players stay connected and you are not billed extra for the privilege.

On by default

Nothing to enable, configure or buy as an add-on. Active from the moment your server is created.

Filtered at the edge

Volumetric traffic is dropped upstream of your node, so your CPU and RAM keep serving players.

Game-aware filtering

Rules are tuned for game protocols, so real players are not caught alongside the attack traffic.

Nothing for you to do

Mitigation starts automatically. If something does get through, support can see it and respond.

Enterprise network

Powered by a 10Gbps network

Every node sits on a 10Gbps uplink with direct routes into the major exchanges, so traffic reaches your players over as few hops as possible. Less distance, fewer transits, lower and steadier ping.
